Sadaka is an accomplished lawyer and scientist specializing in pharmaceutical, medical device and other complex litigation, business disputes, consumer protection, product liability, and toxic torts. His unique blend of analysis combines the scientific method with traditional legal methodology.

Mr. Sadaka earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University where he was awarded the Student Service Award for research projects that he designed and conducted involving end-stage AIDS patients based in the infectious disease department of a large teaching hospital. Mr. Sadaka was also a peer health educator for Healthworks, the country’s largest student-run health organization. He earned a Master of Science in Public Health degree from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine with specialization in toxicology and risk assessment. Mr. Sadaka’s graduate research at the Tulane Center for Bioenvironmental Research focused on the use of molecular modeling and molecular dynamics techniques to study ligand-receptor and protein-DNA interactions occurring in steroid receptor complexes. This research is one of the cornerstones to understanding how toxic substances, such as BPA, affect the endocrine system. While obtaining his Masters degree, Mr. Sadaka worked as a science advisor to Tulane’s Environmental Law Clinic.

He earned his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis where he served as an Editor of the Journal of Law and Policy Law Review. At Washington University, Mr. Sadaka argued bail reductions and parole violations, second-chaired felony trials, and conducted preliminary hearings while working at both the public defender and circuit attorney’s office. He also participated in the Environmental Moot Court competition. Washington University awarded Mr. Sadaka the title of Public Service Scholar with Highest Distinction for his service to the community. He suffered a tremendous personal tragedy when his mother died from cigarette-induced lung cancer during law school. That loss solidified Mr. Sadaka’s commitment to defending those who cannot defend themselves against companies with nearly unlimited resources.

Mr. Sadaka focuses his practice on products liability, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, and toxic torts, by representing injured people. Through his role in representing individuals in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, Mr. Sadaka currently serves on multiple committees for Kugel Mesh Hernia Patch Repair Litigation Multidistrict Litigation No. 1842. He is also handling multiple single event medical device and pharmaceutical injury cases for the firm. Mr. Sadaka also served on the Plaintiffs’ Science Subcommittee for Ortho Evra Product Liability Multidistrict Litigation No. 1742. He was selected Co-Chair of the Plaintiffs’ Science Subcommittee for ReNu Product Liability Multidistrict Litigation No. 1785 and served on the Plaintiffs’ Science Subcommittee for Zyprexa Product Liability Multidistrict Litigation No. 1596 and Vioxx Product Liability Multidistrict Litigation No. 1657. In addition, he served on the Discovery Subcommittee in ReNu Product Liability Multidistrict Litigation No. 1785 and Fosamax Product Liability Multidistrict Litigation No. 1789.

Mr. Sadaka has successfully participated in the resolution of a large number of pharmaceutical and product liability lawsuits. He was a member of the pharmaceutical trial teams at Morelli Ratner PC and Douglas and London, LLP.  Representative experience includes:

  • Single Event: $3 million settlement for the death of a woman from PML infection;
  • Single Event: $3 million settlement for the death of a woman from pulmonary embolism;
  • Mass Tort: Multiple 6 to 7 figure settlements for failing to warn about the side effects from specific product;
  • Mass Tort: $4.85 billion settlement for failing to warn about the side effects of Vioxx; and
  • Mass Tort: $700 million settlement for the failing to warn about the side effects of antipsychotic drug Zyprexa.

Mr. Sadaka is an active member of the American Association for Justice (the AAJ is formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America [ATLA]), New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), American Public Health Association (APHA), and Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETC). Mr. Sadaka has contributed articles to numerous journals, including NYSTLA’s Bill of Particulars. Several of his articles concerning legal and scientific topics are pending publication.
